    hunting idel

i have a 95 eg5 with a d16y in it. the problem i have is when the motor is cold the motor hunts (cant keep a stedy idel) between 1k and 2500rpm. when i remove the IAC plug the motor resume a steady idel. plug it back in and it starts to hunt again. as soon as the motor reash operating temp it idels normal.

if any one has exsperenced this or know how to fix any info would be great.

your IACV (intake air control valve) is dirty/clogged! basically, u need to unbolt it from the intake plenum and clean out the gauze and the valve with carby cleaner and compressed air.

there is 2 bolts holding it on, dont worry about disconnecting the coolant hose's. if ur wondering where is, its the thing that the IACV plug is connected to.

Give them both a clean out and your prob should be solved.

If the spring/valve thing is gone in your IACV you'll need to replace it. I replaced mine on my first b16a.

But again as a few of us have said sounds very FITV related.
