the mainland chinese are a very patriotic bunch. they can get worked up over anything remotely involving politics, japan or taiwan. LOL!

also, those shops that they are damaging, sometimes its intentional. apparently the insurance agents will work in cohoots with the land owners, and get a massive insurance payout for when the shits hit the fan.

The insurance payout is probably subsidiesed by the government.

The issue is deep tho, wouldnt be suprised if a regional conflict breaks out in 5-10 years.... South/North Korea/China/Japan/Phillipines/Vietnam/Russia....

Be really interesting how the US would react when South Korea and Japan decides to have a go at it over those island up north... or China/Japan have a go over the DaoJu islands... or Russia/Japan over Valdstock (sp?) island further up north.

This whole south china sea/north seas problem would really make the middle east problems look like a hippie love festival.

In all honesty, i hold fears for japan. why? because part of the conditions surrounding the surrender is that japan is not allowed to have any sort of armed forces. hence the term "self defence force" not army. in return the usa was to provide all and any support should it find itself under attack.

now with the US economy up shit creek, i wonder if the US can still live up to those expectations. and also we saw how they dropped taiwan in support for china in the 70s. whats to say that the US wont do the same for japan.

USA dropped Taiwan in the late 70s because its pretty much lost by the end of the "white terror" period. Compare the commies to the national party junta back then.... The commies ain't that bad....
Push comes to shove they are still Chinese.

Remember Taiwanese fishing boats get into trouble with the Japanese over DaoYu all the time. More often than the Chinese.

And US cant drop Japan, cause Russia/NK/China all anchored at the same spot, dropping Japan means losing the entire pacific. Outcome is unthinkable.

Of course china. It's probably the Renault/Nissan proximity system that the Dongfeng Honda factory also produces.

Talk about going off-topic!

Anyone know how secure this system is i.e. operating range, rolling code on car computer and key fob, encrypted transmissions, etc.? It's a bit creepy because anyone can open the car by touching the front door handles, as long as you're standing nearby with a key fob in your pocket.

not really. im not sure about honda, but when driving the S class, the driver had to be literally standing right next to me before it would open/lock, and more than half an arm's length wouldnt register. so if the missus wanted the door, she had to be almost hugging me before the door would unlock/lock. same deal with the boot.

on the other hand, volvo S80 didnt have such issues. as long as the remote was in proximity it would open/lock.

On my CX9, the driver need to be next to the door to be able to open it (wife cant open it when I stand on the rear passenger door). this is also the same with our Veloster
