If I want a 1" wheel gap reduction, is it as simple as lowering the car by 1" with springs?
It usually is, but your wheel setup is pretty aggressive. So with that 1" drop, you can expect a bit more of a drop as natural camber will set in and get you a bit lower. However, with that being said, when I was on springs, my rear was lower than my front due to the camber, so that's another thing to watch out for.
yeah probably the only thing thats still stock is my suspension :/
however I don't want to get coils
For what reason?
If you're not after shit coils go for some decent shocks (suitable for the street) and a good springrate to match. Think koni yellows + a decent spring of whatever brand you like.
coils are just for the sake of saying you're JDM. And if you insist on having height adjustability, you can get those ground control or skunk2 sleeves
Because I insist on this car being a daily and if I have height adjustable coil overs I know I will end up slamming the bitch.
So yes I wouldn't mind getting koni yellows and say king springs but I'm trying to keep it simple at this stage as I'm currently putting the pot towards more performance mods; Apexi avcr/eboost2, battery relocation kit so I can extend my intake pipe length, rrc manifold and bigger throttle body to name a few.
