    CIVIC - New Radiator + OverHeating :( - HELP!

    Hey guys
basically just upgraded from my piece of cardboard radiator to a 3.5inch thick Aluminium Radiator... however now it is running hotter.
I do suspect air bubbles and i am idolings the car and it is still bubbleing a bit with the cap off.

I was told there was a bleed valve to solve this problems safely easily and quickly. My engine is a D15b7. And ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated maybe even some pictures?

If not can i just simply flush all the bubbles out by idolings the car with the cap off and topping it up with ever air escapes?

    Regards Lyle

follow your top radiator hose, look for a 12mm nut with a hole on it,

also make sure your thermo fans are cutting in, you could have forgotten to plug them in.

Undo it till some coolant flows out then do it back up (don't over tighten or you will snap it).

See this thread for more info http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...hlight=coolant

Bleed it properly. open the rad cap and loosen the bleed, start the car and let it warm up. keep pumping the radiator hoses and topping up the coolant. dont stop until the radiator fan comes on atleast twice.

otherwise, ur turbo right? smell the fluid in the overflow, has it got charcole particles through it? or does it smell off? COuld be headgasket.

Two turbos, is better then one.

Yes correct i am turbo, it would not be head gasket, coolent is fine and the heat only ever started fluctuating when i put in the new radiator, no chascoal foreign matter either. I will do your method though tomorro. Also

should my standard fan + shroud be sufficient on my new radiator as it is 3.5 inch aluminium and my standard one (absolute joke) was the thickness of my finger

Get me to me on some insite

    Cheers

Why would you run it with the bleed valve open?

to circulate the air to the top to bleed it out of the system.

also some 96 on Hondas dont have the bleed nut.
