    Coilovers: Your experience and reviews

Following on from DreadAngels thread breaking down what a "coilover" is in tuning terminology, I think it would be a good idea to get peoples feedback for prospective purchasers to better help them make a decision when it comes to purchasing.

If people could please follow the teplate it would be great.

    Example

    Model: EG Civic
    Set up: Weekend warrior
    Brand and level: Tien Monoflex
Price: $2500AUD (as of May 2011)
    Spring rates: F-10kg/mm2 R-6kg/mm2
    Ground clearance: 100mm
    Score out of 10: 8/10
    Comments:
These were the first lot of coilovers i purchased after picking up my civic. I purchased these with touge/occasional track in mind. On the street with the correct damper settings, this withstood just about everything Melbournes roads could throw at it and was very comfortable for daily driving duties.

On the track with stock swaybars, the spring rates were a bit on the soft side and you get a fair bit of lean, but after upgrading both front and rear swaybars, the lean became minimal (tho would still have preferred something stiffer for dedicated track work).

Lastly, if you could refrain from the "my mate has these" or "I drove a car once with...." it would be great.

    Model: AP1 S2000
set up: Daily Drive and track car.
    Brand and Level: Ohlins DFV
    Spring rates: 10kg/mm (f), 8kg/mm (r)
    Ground Clearance: 110mm
    Score out of 10: 9/10
    Comments:
Very comfortable, damping adjustment is a huge range, stiffens up a lot for track duties. Build quality is amazing. They handle high speed bumps very well. Doesn't compromise on suspension travel.

On the track they aren't a high enough spring rate. Even with damping set near hard (full hard was too skittish) I got a lot of compression. Enough that I'm surprised I didn't make contact with the ground on some corners. I'm rectifying this with 12kg springs all round - I'll update this once their in.

Cant fault these at all... comfy enough for sydney roads (they are bad) and offer a distinguishable difference in stiffness depending on dampening settings (as opposed to 32way ones)... Not bouncy or floaty and are made out of good materials allowing easy adjustment (hand turning) compared to other suspension setups ive used and adjusted (C-spanner would = super hard work). Large amount of suspension travel.

    Model: EK4
    Set up: Daily / Track
Brand and level: Cusco Zero 2
    Price: $1800
    Spring rates: F-12kg/mm2 R-10kg/mm2

    Comments:
Very very very very, stiff.... only 5 way adjustable but each notch could be felt in the characteristics of the car. Quite the harsh ride but i attribute that to the super high spring rates. Little to no body roll but definitely not the same amount of suspension travel as the Monoflexes...

These were the first lot of coilovers i purchased ever.
On the Hardest setting, the rear is still a bit soft, but excellent road holding and smoother gear changes.
On the softest setting, it's ridiculous, bouncy bouncy.

Front 5, Rear 7 seems to be similar feel to the original parts.
Digital is Only ON or OFF
