    B16a2 ECU Troubles

So my mate's got an ek4 like mine and his ecu limits at 6000 rpm whereas mine ( both standard ) 8400rpm. i put my ecu in his car and it was fine 8400 limit.

My question is can any b16a ecu like from a delsol or eg6 be put into his ek4 to get higher revs again or does it need to be an ek4 ecu because of the wiring?

I saw a delsol ecu for sale and was thinking it would be ok to buy it since its the same engine b16a2.
If a del sol or eg6 limits somewhere around 8k or 7.8k thats fine as long as it gets pass the 6k mark and allows vtec to engage properly.

Any help would be great thanks

Yea sounds like a faulty ECU/bad wiring. If your ECU works then i dont see a reason why another ECU from the same chassis/engine wont work.

yea that what I was thinking too, but then idk just wanted to be safe, and found a few things off google, but nothing directly related to delsol or eg6 ecu into an ek4. thanks helping out though

EG6 ecu will NOT plug straight into an EK4. EG6 is OBD1, and EK4 is OBD2a.

You could get an adaptor harness but you're wasting your time. You'll get error codes because different sensors.

Best off just finding EK4 (P2T) ECU aus spec, they're not that hard to find

Yea checked a few wreckers and they didn't have any ek4. Was just looking for a cheap alternative lol

was your friends ECU a stock ECU ?

is your ECU OBDIIa and if so was it a JDM ECU ?

does your friend car or your car use a conversion harness ?
