Honda Integra Wont Start, just keeps cranking
Hey Everyone!
The problem:
i was driving the other morning to work and the car stalled on me on the freeway. now the car just cranks and doesn't 'turn over to drive'.
I was driving a Honda Integra GSI 1997 model.
i searched all over Google and OzHonda did what I've found and still nothing. was wondering how i could diagnose more to find the problem.
what i have done so far:
-put key in ignition, i hear the fuel pump priming. that (whining sound) that goes for 3 seconds.
-checked the main relay, all the joints seem okay, i've just soldered afew today and still nothing, will solder all when i get more light lol
-checked the fuses under the dash, all fuses seem okay, but will check again to make sure.
Hoping to check:
-Hopefully i will check to see if the engine is getting fuel from the fuel filter and
-check the spark plugs (but not quite sure how to go about it)
and looking into the distributor and ignition switch.
Anything else i could do?
Regards,
OJ

That is correct, mine went at approx the same KM! Would crank and crank and crank, just no spark. A lot of people replace the entire distributor ($$$$$) but it is not needed, mechanic job for the coil is not very expensive. There is a DIY available if you want to tackle it yourself.
Hope it gets resolved asap for ya

Happened to me as well. It was the Coil in the Dizzy like mentioned.
I bought my replacement from Repco for $38, it was a generic brand, Plenty in stock because it was compatible with a lot of other Honda's (CRV, Civics, Integra DC4/2/R etc etc). It was a piece of cake to Install.

thanks everyone for your help!
it was the coil inside the distributor!
while trying to take off the rotor, it for some reason fell off (didn't knock it or anything...strange) so had to get a rotor + coil from repco.
very simple fix
thanks again everyone!
cheers OJ!

Array
your problem was the rotor, if it was loose and you did not break it.
it sheered off, usually due to high temps in the dizzy from the bearing getting hot, possibly failing

Glad to see it was resolved. Thread closed.
