DA9 gear box problem HELP !!

hi guys , i have a problem about my DA9 , it got a B16A engine in it , but the GEAR BOX is still using the 1.8 LS , just want to ask what's the different between the 1.6 and 1.8 gear box ? i know the GEAR RATIO is different ( the 1.6 gaer box have a close ratio than the 1.8 ) but will it make any big different ? is that a good idea to use the LS 1.8 gaer box with the B16A ?? will it still rev really good and smooth with the 1.8 gear box ? any help will be appreciated ~~

I HEARD (so may only be 20% accurate), that if doing a B16A head swap onto a B18 then its a good idea to get a B16A gear box because of the close ratio and final drive gear ??????? I may be wrong tho. And considering that you have a compelte B16 engine in that car.........then well im not sure?????? why did I write this reply???? damn I'm bored at work again.

using the b18 box on the b16 it will be alot harder to stay in vtec when shifting = making it slower
