width of rims matters . And , 205x50x15 will not be the same sidewall height as 195x50x15.
Isnt the "profile" a measurement relative to the width of the tyre - that is , in %. ( so 195x50x15 - the "height" of the rubber will be actually 9.7cms. , where as a 205x50 size will be 10.2cm in sidewall height.
whats the width of your rims ?
you guys have to remember that its not just the width of the tyre, thats important, but how they fit over your rims
never put 195's on a 7'inch rim.. looks silly and i dont think its legal
This is assuming he has a EK4. I haven't worked it out yet, but if he had a EG, due to the smaller std rim size, he might need the 50 series to keep the outside diamater the same when using the larger 15" rim.
But 50 series are cheaper to get too. Much cheaper actually (about $70 a tyre for good rubber).
I only ran 55 on my EK4, but on my ED I will run 50. 55 is too big for a car that came with 13" rims stock Looks funny too.....
