FK3 is the designation for the 2.2 diesel 5 door.
I would have thought it would be something else.
FK2 is the designation for the 1.8 petrol 5 door.
What is its engine code?
Nothing on wiki about the new 1.6 i-dtec

Was thinking N16 since the N are the diesel series.
The N16A2 will be out soon as well since I heard rumors that honda are working on a higher powered version of the N16A1

Picked up mine last Sunday, white VTI-LN with deluxe floor mats, boot liner, accent lighting and rear Parkin sensors
Already added white LED interior lights to replace the crap
Gotta get my hands on a K&N filter for it
Then lower and a nice set of matt black wheels for it
Wife is going to kill me I think!!!

Why get new wheels.
Get some plastidip and paint your wheels matt black.
Good thing about plastidip is it is removable.
Wouldnt bother with a K&N panel filter for it, OEM one is very good(odd i know), but from what the brits will tell you, the panel filter is a tiny bit better.
So no real need to get it since you will not get any performance gains or MPG gains.

MY13 VTiL Hatch
Hi there,
I have just joined OzHonda.
I picked up a MY13 Civic VTiL hatch this week. It's a great car to drive, looks well made and it is practical for the family. I just hope that all of the fancy electronics dont start going wrong after 3 or 4 years. One reason I went Honda this time was that I was sick of constantly fixing my VW Golf.

Welcome to Ozhonda, most of the Civics were made from Japan but this model is from UK from memory it should be ok. What model VW did you own?

Thank you for the welcome, happy to be part of this Honda community.
I have had 2 Golf IVs from new. The first one was a Wolfsburg built lemon and the second one a 2004 Golf Sport was much better, but was still troublesome compared to Japanese cars I've owned. Examples of issues are, multiple electrical faults/failures, degradation of plastics (finish and plastics going brittle and breaking down, like the dipstick crumbling in my hands), lots of squeeks and rattles. The drive train was robust though, certainly much beter than DSG and Twincharger drivetrains on Golf VIs.
I trust Honda's engineering and production quality and the fact that the Civic runs a proven fuel injected engine and a proven torque converter auto. Assuming the electrics stay relaible for a decade this Civic should prove a good choice.

On the old model the most common faults in the UK were the following.
MICU draining battery(australia did not get this issue)
Immobilize locking out car with jump starts(Australia did not get this issue)
EPS controller failure(Not heard of any AU models getting this issue)
Speedometer LCD failure(Few UK users got this, I also got this)
Stereo/CC LCD failure(Few UK uses got this, Not heard of any AU models getting this issue)
Bonnet Alarm Sensor Switch(A lot of failures in the UK, not heard of any issues in AU about this yet)
While i am talking about faults, if you own a manual FN2 or a manual FK2 watch out for the bloody clutch master cylinder seal failure, it will squeak when you press in the clutch or the roof rusting.

Thanks GreyFox, you seem very knowledgeable on the UK Civics. Seems like electronics are the achilles heel of all modern cars, Honda's included. I'm confident that my honda will give much better service than my Golfs though.
