buying an integra !

thanx for the advice i really appreciate it,

but 1: i am youngish but plan on keeping the ride for 4 years or so until i finish uni and work full time.

2: id love an ep3 but the whole point of buying a type r is a temporary solution to wanting to buy a nice enjoyable car oposed to an evo which i am afraid of manitaining during uni with times of limited to no work. and an ep3 as an import may defeat the whole purpose of buying an evo when it comes to parts.

3: the body was straight, only need some touch up to paint overall here and there all over the car nothing a buff couldnt fix, price was good for what it is, but too much for it being RWO so i didnt buy it.

4: its down to a dc2r or dc5r i havnt really driven either one REALLY WELL just the normal test drive i liked the feel of both, i like the shape of the dc5 more and the interior but the dc2 isnt far behind and i know it will definitely grow on me. sometimes i occasionaly consider a corolla sportivo but i dont think i will be satisfied owning it for 4 years everytime i see a type r ill probably have regrets. but the thing making me consider it is that they are cheaper to run etc but still the benefits do not outweigh my change in mind of a type r.

No worries. I know what you mean about the EP3, but I've owned an S800 in the late 80s and a JDM EF9 in the 90s-00s. Parts were available for both, often through Honda Australia.

I think you'd hate a Sportivo too. Nice beige-mobiles, good for what they do but lacking soul. With a DC2R, remember that you are effectively driving a car that is harsh in terms of ride. If you can live with that (I only need a zimmer frame to walk after a week of driving one in the 'burbs) then go for it. It galls me to say it but the 5R is a much more comfortable office to be in.

I love my E30 because after a week of driving the 2R, an '80s BMW is paradise and so comfortable

Like the FT86? I love that Toyota engine.

Aussie market is sadly lacking other than that.

JDM market is another story.

Hey guys i too am looking for a teg,
What do you guys think of a DC5 auto? Ive seen one with 100000km 2001 for $9k
And i dont think the owner has done a major service yet what are some things i should look out for e.g. timing belts, battery...
(would like a manual but wont have the time to learn one).

Iv owned an auto dc5 and then bought a dc5 type r

If your after something fast then dont but the auto, in saying that though, when i had mine it was really fun and easy to drive.

Type Rs are also fun and have that reputation to them.
