RECALL, Honda recalls MDX for Stability Control

This is US only at the moment, it'll probably be a global recall due to severity

2005 Honda Pilot, Acura RL; 2005-2006 Acura MDX

The Problem: Problems with the stability-control system could make the system apply the brakes without any driver input, and if the driver brakes while this is happening, an unexpected amount of braking force could be applied. Though this has the potential to cause a crash, Honda says it hasn’t received reports of crashes or injuries caused by this problem. The source of the problem is a capacitor that may have been damaged during assembly. On about 51,000 Honda Pilots, a loose grounding bolt mayalso short and activate the brakes.

The Fix: Honda and Acura dealers will inspect vehicles and install a new stability-control electrical harness if necessary. For affected Pilot models, dealers will tighten the grounding bolt.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 101,000 Honda Pilot SUVs, 21,000 Acura RL sedans, and 60,800 Acura MDX crossovers. The announcement is part of a global recall that reportedly affects 250,000 vehicles, including 57,000 in Japan.
