Use an automotive relay, connect the coil of the relay to your ECU. Depending on what signal the ECU provides you either ground or power the other side of the coil. Then connect the VTEC solenoid to COM of the relay, then connect NO of the relay to 12v

on an EMS or Microtec .. to hook up the VTEC must be on the AUX of these ECU's right? then you program the ECU/software to utilize the activation of the vtec.
not sure what you mean, VTS is 1 wire only, however outputs on an EMS can drive a solenoid or only a relay, this needs to be checked otherwise you will damage the ECU.
They could also be strapped to provide battery voltage or a ground signal when they trigger.
