ATF & Oil cooler

What about tranny cooler? I touched the underside of the CVT unit after a spirited drive and it was burning hot.. Add to this that the recommended change interval for ATF is a whopping 80,000km... and the unknown reliability of the CVT unit in the long term.. (already had mine replaced under warranty at 65000km due to strange squeeling noise on cold start)

dude, you're not supposed to touch the tranny after a drive, of coz its gonna be hot
anyway, i guess the manufacturer has spent millions of dollars designing and testing their CVT box to handle high temps, as they have already took into consideration that ppl will be doing "spirited" driving with their CVT, so i think unless your engine output has been remarkably increased, im pretty sure the tranny can handle it. for stock or lightly modified engines, regular attention to the cooling system is sufficient.

or probably use full synthetic trans fluid....

thats good idea...coz on my previous car, i switched to a full synthetic ATF and immediately felt an improvement...mainly the gear changes were much smoother. but for CVT box, u gotta check that watever oil u use must be compatible for CVT.

What is the best place to install the cooler in front radiator or AC.

thats good idea...coz on my previous car, i switched to a full synthetic ATF and immediately felt an improvement...mainly the gear changes were much smoother. but for CVT box, u gotta check that watever oil u use must be compatible for CVT.

CVT oil is compatible with Dexron III... i have checked oredy... i used Castrol Full Synthetic trans fluid in my cvt before... car drives different.... more responsive....

An oilcooler isnt really neccecary on a stock engine.... Proper regular cooling does it

Maybe in Norway, but in Oz we have consistent ambient daytime temps of 30 degrees or more, and often 40 or more, for months on end.

So . . . AT coolers especially add to life of transmission considerably and can also have good performance impact in summer especially or in hotter states.
