i have it and love it. i got entry level 12W0-4 sub + e1200 amp. only 125WRMS but sounds beautiful and pounds hard too. if u can find a cheap one i would DEFINTELY recomend the JL 3v2 with a 250-300 watt amp "e1400D"
    RMS is not necaserly everything
but ur best bet go to an audio store listen to and listen to a few...like most things in this world u get wat u pay for

ive heardly a couple of JL subs and they just didnt sound like the have any balls, I heard the 12" kicker square sub in a custom boz and it kicked ass but JB Hi Fi wanted like $700 for the sub alone. Screw that!!! Im thinkin ill go with the JBL. But my mate says he can give me his 12" Sony Pentagonal 1200watt sub for a small price? what you rekon?

    Another Voucher!

I gota JL 10" w3v2 and was running it from a 250RSM cadence q3000 amp, now running it from q4000 and its ****ing awesome! JL i have to say (from limited experience however) is definatly fk'n quality in car audio.

Ive had pioneer/MTX in the past as well and they're nothing clarity wise compared to the JL.

I have a kicker 12" Square solobaric and they go very good. Can handle lots of power (over 1200 rms) and sound damn good if you box it correctly.

how much is your budget again?

    Bang for buck = Jaycar

Im not familiar with their subs but their amps are great. For only $249.95, get the Precision Response Car Amp 2x150WRMS (Power / bridged @ 4ohm 14.4V: 500WRMS x 1)

Apparently their subs arent that bad - may be equivalent to Alpine type S or entry level kickers/pioneers.

Get the type S - SWS-1222D $219 - they are 150wrms per coil (its dual voice coil 2ohm).
Wire to present 4 ohm load (wire coils in series) and it will love the power its getting from the amp.

    Alternatively, get the Response Car Amp 4x50WRMS (2x160wrms @ 4ohm) - priced at $199.95

Then you get can the DVC model of the type S (SWS-1242D), however this sub is priced at $279

Personally this is the combination i would be getting for that budget

    Hope it helps

    Ok hmm,
So after all that i just realised you were only looking for a sub

Go get Image Dynamics IDQ12V2, go for it now

Or save a little and get the IDMAX12

After that, you will be laughing
