AP2 is quicker being easier to drive, the AP1 you can never really be fully at ease, it keeps u on edge sort of. depends though, the suspension isnt perfect anyway, so coilovers to get it how u want. but AP2 doesnt had the Bump steer issue as the rear suspension arm geometry is sorted, this could be done to an AP1 by subframe swap or Bump steer kit (though these have been known to fail causing complete loss of control)

But if you set up the geometry properly with after market suspension the bump steer shouldn't be that much of a problem with responsible and smooth driving. Not forgetting that the rear suspension toes in under load and by changing the distribution suddenly causes the toe to change. In my opinion the fun of the AP1 is that it always keeps you on the edge and after getting used to it with lots of seat time. It's tons of fun - feedback from friends who've tracked the S2000 the ap1 is apparently more "fun" to drive lol.

    But to each his own.

Lol no way you'd take that ap1 over the ap2. Sorry but you'd be an idiot

In respect to the NFR AP1 and SSM AP2, the price difference is minimal. It's an extra 2.5k for the 2006 model which is a whole lot rarer and better, both aesthetically and mechanically.

If we're talking about an AP1 which is 20k vs an AP2 which is 35k then obviously you will purchase the car which is within your budget, as I did.

I've owned 3 s2000s now. Finally bought myself an AP2 when I could afford one.

being on the edge is not the best thing, the AP2 will be fast because around the track understeer bias is faster than oversteer. according to MCM, also being predictable makes it easier to push it.
saying an ap1 is better is like taking a flaw and trying to spin it around with clever words, at the end it aint as good but an ap1 is about as good as most will get.
