I haven't been to a dealer before for any form of servicing. Accesory installation, yes but that's it. I do all services myself at home. I even do the "major services" on cars I've had. "Big things" like CV joint or rotors I take to a local mechanic. Even then, I book it on a day which I am free all day and sit there and watch him do it.
