Engine mounts

Hey guys,

I have weird clunking sound coming from the front of car under load especially when its cold, once the car warms up the noise goes away. Described symptoms to my old man coz he has an FD1 with engine mount issues also and thinks it could be them starting to go as he said that's how his started.

What else could it be?

Also does anyone know if the CU2 engine mounts are oil filled?

The car is still under warranty up to 100k and its got 97,000 on the odo.

Sounds odd for your 2010 engine mounts to wear out so quickly. My 2004 CL9 engine mounts are still good, no clunking sound. Can you do a visual check for cracks, especially in the front mount?

Only skimmed over them. Do you have any idea if the mounts and are oil filled?

My front mount was gone @ about 90000km. This was in 2013 so 6 years old at the time... Mount completely ripped apart.

Only time I noticed the clunk was when taking off from a stop and the auto box decided to shift from first to second. Didn't matter if hot or cold. If yours is an auto the way my mechanic confirmed the issue was the put your left foot on brake, put it in drive and tap the accelerator. The engine rock was pretty violent with the broken mount and you could see the front moving up. When the engine and the top half of the mount dropped the clunk sound I heard was the 2 pieces coming together again.

That's what it was for me anyways.

Not sure if your CU2 is oil filled but the front mount on the CL9 is.

I just hope honda Penrith pick up the sound considering I have left the car overnight as it happens when its cold.

So they are replacing the inner wheel bearing as they think it could be that. Car goes back on Monday hoping it fixes it

Got the car back lastnight. Drove the car this morning and noise is still there. So after a drive shaft swap and bearing change what else could it be engine or transmission mounts???

Again the sound only occurs when turning right and under load.
