Not really. No more than a rebuilt box which I would do if I was swapping in a hydro setup and cheaper because there are no more additional parts required. I picked up the internals and casing for what ended up being about $400 and a new final drive for $120. Add in the new bearings, synchros, seals etc and a couple of required parts and it's a good option. I was just lucky to come across parts as they are not easy to find.

This is basically the crux of that post. You were in the right place at the right time. We all know late 80s Honda parts are going to become pretty scarce in the next few years. Especially parts that aren't f'ed. How often do you go the the wreckers looking for some parts only to find they're in worse condition than the ones on your car
