Can't argue with that, I'm gradually reducing weight on mine for that reason.
But when companies try to claim that just replacing the battery will give you sharper handling and quicker turn in that's pretty ridiculous.

yeah it is a pretty ridiculous claim

no, the thread isn't a lost cause because of "the spammers".
and no it wouldn't just be the starting of the vehicle, it would be the management of the battery during operation, the monitoring of the batteries health etc.

Ive seen that claim, it was in reference to motorbikes not cars, the weight reduction can be felt a lot more in a sports bike as the battery is a larger percentage of the total weight and usually high up in the frame.

I don't see your point? My reference to a "starting" battery is because that is how the main application is described as apposed to an auxiliary or deep cycle battery.
My point is that lithium batteries are not widely adopted by automotive manufacturers for good reasons.

I cut and paste the quote directly from their page linked for the nsx application. but yeah in a bike i think you would notice a difference.

Looks like you are making my point for me.
Tesla is not mainstream. Most cars just use lead acid still.

All I mean is most auto manufacturers don't use Li ion batteries. That is all.
Lolmclol mentioned owner of tesla before deleting the comment, I was implying that tesla doesn't represent the majority of the automotive market.
