CAPS AND AMP SUBWOOFER COOMBINATIONS : which one?????

Hopefully someone can help me with this question. I just read some stuff from Fhrx Studios. Should be freak studios because its almost like you answered most of my questions i needed to ask. HATS off to that site!!!

My question is this;

currently installed ;
the front setup is type r splits and type r 6x9s + alpine v12 4 channel

options for sub and amp

Setup 1 ; rockford fosgate mono 1001 amp + 2x15inch RF.

Setup 2 ; Alpine 1005 mono amp + 2x15inch RF

Setup 3 : Alpine 1005 mono amp + 2x12inch alpine type r

1) in regards to battery;

do i need to use optima yellowtops for any of the above combos?

2) in regards to caps;

what cap should i use to be best suited to above combos?

3) which combo would be most efficient in delivering bass even at low volume levels??

yellowtops are the top of the line battery out there (arguably). A few hundred for one, if not for your sound system then just for your car in general it cant hurt to have some nice parts under your bonnet. Id suggest getting one, my poor lil century battery can hardly handle my setup i have now, and its not as big as the one you're talking about.

Not 100% sure, but i think 12s give better low volume bass, but you dont particularly want this coz if its low enough to matter all your music will be bass and you wont hear anything but the bass. 15 inch subs give off a fairly large amount of bass, what sub you should choose depends on your own tastes. Different people like different kinds of bass and listen to different types of music. I say try and get all your setup done, then ask the place your buying from if you can try each of the subs in your car. If theyre nice theyll let you as long as they know you'll buy afterwards lol

i think the 12inch subs are a better multipurpose option and are easier to sell if it ever comes to that. the 15inch sub is for very deep base for those big lows in hip hop music mainly.
i personally would recommend the 12inch subs.

car battery is the least of your worrys to be honest. you can go out a blow a ton of money on an expensive battery but if your system is draining that much power from your power system you will need a capacitor. the battery will be the last thing you upgrade.

when it comes to the capacitor it really depends on how bigger gains you will be running etc. i am running a dual 12inch setup with 300wrms+ running to each sub for a total of 600wrms+. i am using a 1farad jaycar capacitor and it is more than sufficient while the car is running to hold charge without emptying and returning the strain to me car power system. the jaycar 1farad cap at $100 brand new is very hard to beat for price.

As a general rule, i say 12inch for dance and rnb, but if you listen to only rnb i say go the 15s. This isn't always the case, but its just my opinion.

in answer to your questions:

1) You don't need an optima battery, but for that kinda amp i'd be getting one if budget permitted

2)A one farad cap would suffice for this set up... highly recomended

3) personally i think the 15s (regardless of amp) would produce more bass at lower levels, due to the speaker pushing more air.

I've found 12s to be more responsive and 15s most of the time. I say consider your style of music you listen to most, then base that on your sub choice.

and please don't go cheap when it comes to cabling

Guys, never be afraid to steer away from the mainstream brands. Just because a company has a large marketing department (which those original two are two of the largest in the world) doesn't necessarily equate to it being the best option for high end sound.

Can I be so bold as to suggest you look at much better options. Like specialist ones.

Based on my vehicle (accord euro 04) what brand do you suggest without going too overboard. Also have you worked on any euros before? if so do you have any pics?

IF ANYONE has pics of accord euro with stereo installs can you please PM them please?

do the big 3 wire then do the battery. if the vottage still drops badly, u might consider a cap or a bigger alt.

Caps are overrated, at best a band-aid fix that doesn't quite do the job, at worst they're a complete waste of time and money. Install properly, maybe upgrade battery (if needed), and you should be fine to run a 4 channel amp and a mono bloc tp run speakers and subs.

We've worked on plenty of Euro's yes. Before I can accurately recommend anything I need to know what you listen to, how loud and how much you wish to spend.

yeah thats true. Ive been told that you are better off getting a better battery instead, that way your whole car can benefit! not just the sound system!
