I got the GIII for $120 apiece, 195/50/15, fitted and balanced. My first set of "perfomance" rubber, and I'm very happy with them.
And yeah, the rim protector lip is great for those retarded sleepy parks.

    thats easy... G111s.

I went from G11s on my old wheels to F1's now... HELLO UNDERSTEER.

F1s need to be warmed up heaps... although they are a lot better than G11s in wet whether.

GIII Hard Compound?!! These were one of the fastest wearing tyres I've every used, however, it is a great tyre especially in the wet..

Goodyear F1 is not so good in the wet compare to G3
both perform about the same in the dry, G3 have an edge as is a newer design.

i think this comparison deserves a little better than a plain old, "x is shit, go and buy y".

which f1's are you talking about? the old gsd2's, or the new gsd3's?
there is a world of difference between them... and about 8 years product development. you can't compare the old f1's with the current g3's... it's a bit like comparing an ae82 corolla with an ek9 and using the result to say that all civics are better.

i was on a set of gsd3's right before my current tyres, which are g3's. the absolute grip levels seem to be very similar in the dry, although the g3's have much better feel- the g3's seem to be stiffer in the sidewalls than the gsd3's. turn in is much more direct with the g3's, and as a result it feels a little more surefooted.

in the wet, the g3's are nowhere near as good as the gsd3's. both tyres offer similar resistance to aquaplaning, but the eagle f1's had much better grip on the wet tarmac, as a result the car felt less flighty and was less likely to spin the front treads when taking off at traffic lights.

as for which tyre is better, it's hard to say as it depends on your priorities, but if money is a factor, the g3's are anywhere from 10-20 cheaper, per tyre.
    And so it begins...

i have gIII's atm 215 50 16" i think. nonoe the less i love them. one thing i must say thoough i swear they seem to loose aire pressure fast. even my mums car which came sock with bridgestones loose pressure quick (not over days quick just quicker than normal. although i guess it could be the result of more spirited drving now i have some decent low profile tires...

If you're loosing air, you might want to get your tyre valves checked..
