Hey guys, atm my alpin emrv 545 is set at 40mhz for both front and rear speakers. Whats the reasonable frequensy for front and rear speakers without blowing it up?
Check your speaker specs for crossover point. You don't say what size speakers 4", 5", 6", 6x9". Bigger the speaker the lower the frequency it can handle (generally). No point sending them frequencies they can't play.

Start by looking at the frequency response ranges. 50Hz-22KHz & 27-32,000Hz. Now your not going to get optimal sound across that whole range. This is where those pretty graphics they put on the outside of the box or on the spec sheet can help.
Also are you running any subs? as you want to feed your lower frequencies just to them.
I reckon its worth getting a system professionally tuned especially if you've invested in good gear like you have with your bostons. Small price to get the most out of it.
Yah im planning to get pro to tune it for me but got to save up money for my sub and amp. im planning to do it when i got the sub and amp and get them to tune it for me too. Atm i just wanna do some to sound good, like get less bass from my front and rear
Around 80Hz is often the crossover point between the subs and other speakers but in your case the Pioneer specs pretty much say 74Hz is the lowest they go.
Its going to be one of those things you set. Listen to and then adjust. Ears are the judge.
Some sound proofing will help the sound quality heaps too. I'm just amazed at the amount of 'professional' places that don't push the importance of sound proofing.
Yeh im in QLD, i dont know many good places that do pro job tuning or installation. I got my system installed but it ws just installed, and the guy said he tuned my system but doubt he did, my amp cross overs for my speakers are 40mhz on all 4 channels o_O And i asked about sound proofing and he said u dont need to o_O so i just left as it is untill i get my sub and amp and try northfield, apparently they seem to sounds more pro than strafielth.
