HELP! Flashing "D" light!

Just contacted my dad. He said he did replace the VSS. So I was wrong in my replies.

He also said that it was easy to self-replace. It's below the distributor on the transmission casing. He did have the Haynes repair manual with him though.

hrm, it may be easy to self replace, but where do i get one from?
plus i'm not that great with cars...so going under it and identifying the right parts could be a problem too.

oh well i think i'll just have to shell out for it...bah!

before you replace anything,you should do tests to prove its the problem, Dont just replace parts.

9 times out of 10 if you have VSS codein PGMFI ecu and AT ecu then its the sensor.

wth...300-500?! that's expensive! i'm still hoping it could just be a wiring thing...

nar the speedo and tacho work fine. the D just flashes after about 5 mins of driving.

If my previous experience is anything to go by, the speedo will not work intermittently. Mine used to work sometimes and then just die all of a sudden and then come back again. Still had to be replaced.

Why don't you give a call to CRS Automotive, let them know that you think your VSS is faulty and ask how much would it be for them to change it. if you are happy with the price, then ask them how much do they charge to diagnose it.
