    a good short ram system will perform just as good as a cold intake system

    maybe not on a dyno, whilst air isnt being pushed through the engine bay

    really the intake will make a very minor improvement so you have to add up what you wanna spend the money on, maybe just dropping a KN in the standard setup etc..

    what i think is its a crap setup, ur beter off with ur original air filter box setup than that. trust me u dont wana be collecting hot air from ur engine that reduces ur car performance. extend ur piping and make a cold air intake that actually feeds of cold air.

    ok to answer the question you asked "yes" it's good enough (to stay there for looks(appearance...)), "no" it's not good enough to improve preformance...

    and just a quick question is that the standard IM for a GSi? it looks different to even the vti-R?

    i would go DC2 K&N in the stock box den cut the bottom of box for direct cold air pipe to front of car

    another cheapie option
    just get a 45 degree PVC bend pipe and sit the pod in the stock airbox
