What engine is in CRXs

what engine is this engine, my friend is looking at buying a CRX, owner said it was a b16a, but dont look like 1 to me

D16A8 if its an Aussie delivered CRX, ZC if its a JDM crx or swapped from a JDM crx.

yup - definatelly not a Vtec - no 'Vtec' embossing on the Valve cover either!

Yep I've already had this discussion with the owner. First he says its a B16A, then I told him it was D16A8 non vtec, then he inisisted it was vtec cos it had been "built into "vtec, finally he said that a few version of the d16A8 came out as vtec and showed a picture of I think the distributor that if you used your imagination looks like it has something like vtec stamped on it.

It all sounds a bit dodgey. I don't think it is that overly priced but he might have more luck selling it if he gets his facts straight first.

no d16a8 or ZC came out with vtec.

look for a vtec solenoid.

RUN AWAY !! looks riced-out with gold paint on everything etc.. i wouldnt touch it.. especially if the seller's attitude is like that.. RUN RUN !!

no point looking for a VTEC solenoid, cause there was NEVER any VTEC implementation to the 'ZC'.. closest you can get is the D16Y1 SOHC VTEC.
