Need help identifying head

hey all!

im new to ozhonda and ive got a problem here.....im currently in the process of getting my first car.
ive talked to the owner and they said that their mechanic said that it has been fitted with VTEC parts in it! (not even sure if they know if it has or not)
my problem is that i know that 89 crx's have D16A6 engines in them but it seems like in the picture attached the head is not of a D16A6 head. i was wondering if anyone could help me out in finding out what type of head has been put onto the engine please.

No VTEC in your car im afraid.

aus 89 crx only had d16a8 in them. if it was a jap spec it would be b16a or zc.

that picutre is d16a8.

Hi Pimpin...

Like the others have already stated, it looks like a D16A8 which should be 1.6ltr, 16 valve, Dual Over-Head Cam (DOHC) EFI.
