Battle of the heavyweights; Focal Be Vs Rainbow Reference!

Okay, seeing as the Focal Beryilliums are finally here I've decided to put my Rainbow References up against them in a back-to-back comparison.

Just like the subwoofer day, we’re on a mission to determine which speaker is the 'king of the world' (a little presumptuous but that’s marketing for you). On that note, I’m thinking of holding another of our famous BBQs for this experiment so if any other people could possibly make available their cars containing other high end splits in them (DLS, Scanspeak (Nathan), Phass (Bobsical), Ti Comp Elite (John) that would be very much appreciated?

Whilst I’m doing some experimenting with the Focals and Rainbows has anyone got anything specific they want me to listen for and report on?

Sounds awesome Marty. How is this going to occur? I realise that like the sub comparison day its going to be purely subjective, and it's going to be difficult to find a "winner". But are there any rules, like speakers only, ie no sub playing; or is it going to be how well they work in the system?

By the way, do those white gloves come with the rainbows?

Careful handling? I think it's to do with the polished/chromed surfaces on the speakers, as fingerprints are annoying and difficult to clean sometimes. I think some of the Audison amplifiers come with white (cotton) gloves also, as do the Soundstream Tarantula amps (those full bling amps)

Yeah they come with gloves and a T-shirt for some extra bling...

There will not be any real winners or losers in the split day. I'm just doing it so people can listen to some more exotic brands that are not so main stream. Things like:

    Diamond Audio
    Phass
    Eton
    Rainbow
    Zapco
    Focal (somewhat common now)
    Infinity
    Morel
    DunAudio

    etc...

Whoa, some damn bling and beautiful speakers.

How would you rate the JL Audio ZR650's with these FHRX?

I don't mind the JL's actually but they fall a little short.
