    Hi guys
i am new to this forum.

Just want to find out how reliable are the Crx and Civic engines are.

Looking to buy 1 or swap for my current car 180sx 96 model

What would be your recommandation in regarding a honda v-tec engine
    A crx/civic or an integra type r?
i know price diffrence is alot but i can afford both and some things i like more about crx then any of the above cars.

    Gen II CRX Si-R

    1.6L (B16A) VTEC Engine, roughly 118kw vs 950kgs.

Old school shaped car that'll totally boot.... Cult classic car. Prolly pick one up for around the $10K mark. Handles like a dream.

    Gen III CRX

Same engine, bit heavier. Not as fast, not as much of a classic design if you ask me. However there is still something cool about them Prolly pick up a good one for about $14K

    Integra Type-R (DC2R)

    1.8L VTEC Engine, Roughly 147kw @ 1050kgs?

Pure race bred track car, Redlines at about 8500. You wouldnt have to worry about doing any mods to it, its perfect as it. Get a really good one for $25K and a decent one for about $20K.

All these engines will be more reliable than any Nissan Turbo. All are totally bullet proof when serviced and treated well enough. Another thing i'll guarantee is your petrol and insurance bills will be alot less

    Thats my 2cents.

I dont think you could go wrong with any of the above.

About if you should get a type R or a crx/civic. Its all up to you and what you want. In the end, if both cars are fairly stock the type r will be better. But a EG civic with a B18c already converted will be nearly half the price. So you will have a lot of money to play around with.

And yeah, Honda engines in general are very reliable. Honda has a excellent reputation for reliabillity. Although parts are more expencive when something does happen. But there many people on OZHonda with a B-series thats done over 250,000km's without any hassles

buying a CRX is more than just a decision u want to get it cause it looks good. Its a decision which should really mean u got to have cause nothing else comes even close when u compare.

Yes there might be a few drama mind u it's 17+years old car but its different and unique not common like others.

Just read my story click http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...2&page=7&pp=12 and also here http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...2&page=5&pp=12

my friend bought a 180sx for the power factor against a honda and now he wants to come back to honda to bad he has a loan on the car. In a way i could possibly relate to the decision for u to sell it.
Be smart put money in ur back pocket and not on fuel get a honda.
