are hiflow cats all basically the same?

    price matters, just like headers,

you can get x-force style cats and mugen styel cats...

i got my 2.5in one from:

    http://www.capa.com.au/exhaust_components.htm

for around $200 shipped a few years ago, and it has been fine since then

    main differnce is material used.

xforce "Stainless steel cats" are not actually what they claim they are, they have a stainless steel coating on the outside to make them look nice.
i'm sure if you went for something more pricey, it would be full stainless steel and would have better air flow qualities (or so i'm led to beleive)

um, the catalyst is what slows the flow, not the material the cat is made from...

yup - isnt the flow judged by the internal size of the catalyst sections - Not the actual inlet + outlet size ?
