Yeah in 1st. Just get it fitted by specialist who got a dyno thats all. You will spend more but at least you got peace of mind and you wont run the risk of damage to your engine.

thanks for the reply from u guys. my vafc was firstly installed and tuned up by the specialist. I then read tons of mags and technical staff. I then had little knowledage or I can say tricks for setting this up. hope u guys can correct me if I'm wrong. I knew that for more general setting (mainly for street use and street race) u can reduce fuel supply from 1000rpm to 4000 rpm as increase the low end torque or foucus on saving pertol, but while the vtec's in, u need to enrich a bit (around +1) for the vtec starts period, I mean the high cams starts in. when the high cams fully in, then it's better off to give more fuel ( as I set it up +2) to increase the vtec performance. however, what I'm saying here is for street use. But when ya go for race, then it would be full throttle, then the fuel supply would be a bit more then half throttle, that why I set it as + 3 (the vafc indicates this as narrow throttle). but I am still trying to make the point here. I had no idea y I can't change the vtec crossover point. also, even I read some mags and technical, but I still dunno what;s the function of vtec unmatch point, or I can say I made confuse in this part. anyway, all above just what I think. still lookin' any good one around to correct all this.

To cut a long story short leave your car tuning to a professional, with the correct tuning tools, lambda meter, there is NO SUCH THING AS A GENERAL RUEL FOR A ENGINE, that’s the largest load of crap iv ever hurd.

Every engine works performs differently, your ECU will automatically lean off or richen your fuel for ANY settings you make, and you can not stop this from happening, ie you car will ALWAYS go out of tune and you will always need to add more or less fuel, but unless you have the correct tools knowledge and understand everything 100000% don’t try this at home ! you most certainly can not use settings or recommendations from others, others posting information like that don’t understand the fundamental differences between every engine and even every Stock ecu.

Why do you want to change the VTEC point?

  5. #17
coz the optimum performance point for vtec is around 5200, I'm not sayin' the factory setting is no good but just same as the example like why ppl change their sussy, it doesn't mean factory sussy is no good but just wanna get better performance or result.

Who says the optimum performance point is 5200???? Unless you dyno it... you cannot determine which point is optimum or not.

Exactly what i was getting to. I've never understood this fascination with changing the VTEC crossover point. VTEC engines come out of the Honda factory optimally tuned anyway, so unless you are careful with the modifications you do, you don't really gain that much in performance, in particular with changing the VTEC crossover.

Either way, good luck in your quest.

as I said from the beginning of this post, my vafc was installed by the specialist at that time and dyno my r after that. I know every cars different but the dyno result did show the optimum point was around 5200rpm. and that y I wanna change the crossover point but the problem is I can't change that via the VAFC.

If you're in Melbourne, could have suggested some workshops. Nevermind.

Let us know how it all goes. I'm interested to see the results.
