    Thumbs up My Fit's Rear Disc conversion

    Hmmm.. Decided to pop by my workshop to 'look see, look see'... Called my bro, and asked him down to.. Hahaha... Turns out, it was a 'bad' decision.. *Spend $$$ again.. *

    Since I've already upgraded my front brakes , I was looking @ the rear disc conversion too.. Decided to ask my mech... Hahaha..

    Ok, let the pics, show you what I've done in the end;

    Conversion done;

    With the rim on;

    *Pics 28 & 29!*

    Damage: S$650.
    Time taken: 4 hours
    Result: Very much improved braking response, tighter handbrake too!

    *PS*: I strongly recommend all drivers out there (be it Toyota/Suzuki/Subaru/Hyundai etc), to do the rear disc brake conversion! Its damn worth it!!

    *FYI, the rear disc rotors are in fact, slightly larger than my front ones.. Grrr... WilWood 4 pots, here I come!!!

    So far, the braking bias is relatively not that unbalanced yet.. But what I can say, is that My Fit is starting to brake the way I want it to..

    *I strongly recommend all Jazz/Fit drivers to have this brake upgrade done to their stock rear drums (if any)*

    Hmmm... I'm not very sure what rims I'm having. All I know, is that I'm 1 of the 4 owners in SGP, to have this set of rims!

    Hee.. They're pretty light too! Weighing in @ abt 4+ kg...

    Definitely, Zimp13!
    OEM Honda parts for the whole disc conversion. Nothing was ever shaved/cut/filed off..

    is the rear brake kit from the thai spec jazz? i suppose if the rear brakes u have are from another jazz, then it doesnt matter if the overall rear disc diameter is larger than the front discs. i've notice many other car makers equip larger diameter discs are the back, but the pad-disc surface area is smaller than the front. and also the brake bias would have been properly balanced by the manufacturers.

    Sweet.. Nice work. I love how much ppl are modifying their jazz's.
    If only I had more $$

    Anyway for future reference for all the DIY'ers out there, what Honda OEM bits did you need to do this conversion?

    Are you the one with the bolt up honda civic front brake conversion?

    Something that might need checking - i think there's a proportioning valve which sets the amount of brake fluid pressure is sent to the rear. From memory disk brakes require slightly more than drum (or vice versa - been a few years), so the valve is slightly different. I had this trouble with a mitsy colt rally car I used to compete in. It might not be applicable to the jazz though.
