I have the same motor in my ED now. There was a post a few weeks ago with a guy who fitted this motor to his ED with the factory dual carbs too.
Very strong motor and basically, consists of a D15Z1 block, VTi pistons and head and 130Hp stock from a 1.5L.
that would be me... yes these engines are very good and powerful in responce. i had installed a injected one about two years ago into a eg hatch... you need the p08 manual ecu. i went throu headake with the auto ecu cause it keeps throwing codes due to not having the box. also the manual ecu runs a hell of alot better than the auto. the other interesting things is that when i didnt originally have the p08, i tryed a series of ecus. p28 and all the others. once i got my hands on a p08. i was over the moon cause it runs alot better on this engine. trust me. don't get anything else..
also u need a vtec dizy. i have one if you wanna buy it off me. .... good luck on your conversion, as ive done about 8 now and its very tiring., especially when your going from carb to injected. as for power wise. i raced my mates au vtec and left him., not only did i beat him, i raced the eg crx b16a, and left that to.. lol this engine isn't to be underestamated, however you always must run premium..

I used the Auto P08 ECU on my swap, got some advice on changing the ECU to manual by removing/adding parts to the main-board. Runs beautifully and only thrown 1 code for the EGO, as used original ED EGO that was soaked in oil. No drama's since.

Hard to believe that this car once came with dual carbs and 72Kw of normally asthmatic(oops.. I mean aspirated ) engine when it is putting out over 100Kw these days

My JDM VTi has this engine. They are commonly refered to as "Black Top's". Very popular engines to boost in Taiwan ive heard. NA with mild h/e mods they can make upto 100hp at the wheels.

As John said, adding a VTEC wire isn't too hard to do.

Check the forsale section Bao is selling p08 ecu's. I know him and can definatly vouch for his work. He has worked on many d15s in his time.

Get pics of the dizzy from the states or get a part number from it to confirm it is the right dizzy.

For ECU mods, check this link:

if your car is carby. u got problems.. unless your planing on doing what i did.... if its injected. you can just add a vtec wire on top with your standard ecu. and wire that to like a rev tacho...
