CD5 Rust have cracked my windscreen!

Last week, I found a 6cm long, very thin crack on the top coner of my driver's side windscreen. It crack starts from underneath the weather seals and didn't appear to be hit by rocks or anything as the surface was smooth.

Rang up insurance and had it replaced this morning. It was a ease of mind; I purchased the windscreen option the first time this year for $50 extra.

The guy at the windscreen place told me its very common on older cars. No mather how well a car is taken care of, these bloody seals are always causing rusts by trapping water. When the rust blogs, it pushes the windscreen and eventually cracks it.

So, perhaps people with older models should spend a weekend to take out their seals and clean it up. You'd polly find something there.

Thanks for the tip, will keep it in mind. A little maintenance could save $$ and headaches
