Idleing your car for long periods is not desirable... It can cause your cylinder bores to glaze up.
This means that all the tiny cross hatched marks in your bore, that trap oil so your rings stay nice and lubed, will be worn away... not good
If you plan on keeping your engine running for long periods it pays to give the throttle a quick stab, which eliminates this from happenin, every 5-10 mins
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
ahhh yes that what i was tryna say something like that anyways.
thats why when i idle my car i tap the accelerator every now and again people on this forum didnt understand that when i mentioned this previously
something about the oil not flowing to all the parts of the motor right? something on those lines.
Sorta, the oil drains outta the grooves made from the x hatch marks, causing premature wear i.e. rubbing back the bore so that the grooves are not deep enough to hold the oil.
