In August 2001 the DC5R was released with the K20A2, and the K20A3 was released in the regular tegs. The K24A3 was realeased in June 2003 in the 7th gen Accords. That's when the k series motors were launched in Australia, I;m not totally sure about when they were released overseas, but I think it was fairly similar to the aus release dates.
Yeah I got the F and K confused...
I remembered that either the S2000 or DC5R came with an engine that has been out for a long time but only now have people "seen it's potential".
By the way, K20A is better than F20C isn't it? I heard F20C is not all that great? Unreliable?
In what way is it unreliable? We've had our s2k since september 1999 (number 57 off the production line) and we've never had any problems wit the motor Only thing people really complain about is the the weak clutch and the 2nd gear buzz.
I read that the K20A was developed based on techniques and technologies used in the S2000 F20C. Of course, not all of the mechanical aspects of the F20C were ported over to the K20A in order to keep the costs down.
