What engine do i have?

Firstly, get the D15B4 motor running right.

Firstly, I would install a new fuel filter, located behind the black plastic panel attached to fuel tank, on the passenger side. Fit new spark plugs while your at it and your spending about $30.
Under the bonnet, find the fuse box next to your brake master cylinder. Remove the 10A fuse closest to the bonnet hinge for 5 minutes, then put it back in. This will reset your ECU. Drive it around the block a few times and then check to see if the red light is flashing again.

If so, let me know. The EGO sensor may need to be replaced(very common on these engines) and is worth around $70 for a brand new NGK EGO sensor.

i put a new fuel filter in today, seems to run a bit better but i only drove it around the estate, but no where near as bad as it was before, i had a major service done when i got the car wich was in august or around then, the plugs look fine to me, but should i change them anyway

Spark plugs should be fine if it had a major service. Just make sure you reset the ECU so it can adjust itself to your improved fuel flow. Another way of resetting the ECU is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes but means programming your clock & stereo settings again

yep i did the reset thing, the ecu did 1 flash after about 15seconds of the key turned to on, i turned the car off and back on again and it didnt do it again. so i should have no problems now?
