how would u go about mounting rear struts
how would u go about mounting rear strut braces on the rear strut towers
?? any one have any good suggestions? the cars a eg si 93"
-
loosen the bolts off .. put on the strut bar .. jack the car up from teh rear a little so wheels are off ground then tighten up.
-
Why does the car have to be jacked up?
Anyway, if it is a hatchback version, I installed one to a friends EG and basically had to make holes so the strut bar can go through the plastic.
The advice I can give you is, to be carefull where you put the hole, have a good look, measure etc and leave some plastic so that the caps that go over where the struts bolt up can still be held in place, just so it looks a bit neater
-
depends whether or not it can clear the plastic trim, might have to cut/remove it. basically undo the strut bolts (2 each side), put on your bar, and bolt it back down.

Don't jack the car up when fitting the strut brace, it will 'pre-load' the suspension into that position and can cause stress factures when in your normal position and during corner.
Make sure you get a wheel alignment before fitting the strut brace

isnt the point of putting a strut brace to preload ur car in a neutral position so that when ur cornering it doesnt have any give ???
so that the car feels like it is actually stiff ??
well just my thinking neways.

But when you have a wheel alignment, do they jack up the car?? no.
The suspension needs to be fully compressed and under load, so that the strut brace can enhance the suspension settings that are already there from a good wheel alignment.

Soldering iron >=) and melt the shape you need so u can still keep the plastic covers but cut to accomidate the strut
or use a saw.. seen it done a few times

just strip the rear half of your car completely, this will make room for the rear struct
