Thinking about buying a prelude for first car

heyz folks
first time posting on da boards, how are we all?
well im 17 atm, and im considering getting a second hand prelude for a first car
now.. im not much of hte car expert... any recommendations ? im not trying 2 go over 3000$.. if thats possible.
perhaps just tips on wat i should look for etc etc

3000 is very limited
i'd look hard for a cheap eg even a breeze or something and then do a conversion on it when you have more money.
not saying preludes are bad but my mate has a 1994 one and he always complains of problems with it. maybe he just got unlucky and got a lemon...

try save up atleast another 1k, and dont rush into buying anything.. no matter how badly you want it, make sure you know whats the pro's and con's about the car.
i picked up a 91 eg GL with 220,000kms on the clock, for $3400.. it was my badluck because that car had unlimited problems

i personally havent driven a 3rd gen lude, but it sure does look the goods for a first car, it shoulda been my first car but i wanted something modern rather than the boxy look.
so yeah ludes are definately sweet rides, love the pop-up lights and sunroof

yeh i picked up my 89 prelude for 4000 wif 200 000 km on the clock..i have had my run of bad luck wif it so yeh before u buy one get someone to inspect it and dont buy one over 300 000 km's its a big risk..good luck dude and keep us updated wif your progress

Ast most people have pointed out, $3000 will not get you a decent example. $3000 may not even get your a poor example.

Save a little more and it should open up more options.

Keep saving and you can get a really neat ride.
You'll just have to be like me, be tight and stingy for a few years.
Then end up with some neat H22A shit!
Dont blow it now, one thing I realised when young is that you tend to spend money on a vehicle without thinking.

Dont do what I did.

I've got far less than you, as for savings.
So you're off to a pretty good start.
Keep saving buddy, just something I'd do.

save and live like a bum from kings cross for a while
then when the time comes, spend spend spend!!!
