hi guys,

i need to roll my guards!
i have 2 cars that need it done. also my brothers civic guards can do with some rolling!

so i was thinking i might try and buy a proffessional tool!

then i can offer the service to my honda buddies in brisbane!

unless anyone has the tool in brisbane already???

what do yous think???

Don't forget that the guards need heating up prior to rolling, so that the paint bends with the metal and doesn't crack....

hey try a guy on the gold coast called precise guard rolling he did mine very happy with the job i think he charged me like $30 a corner.

The professional guard rolling tool is not cheap... from memory over $1000 and it attaches to you wheel hub and slowly massages the guard out rolling around on the hub axis. It takes about 7 or 8 goes for a top quality job!!
I had it done to my 200SX and was amazed at the quality.

so if i buy it will i get my money back? lets say i charge 15 to 20 dollars a corner!

Well you can do maths can't you. Cost of roller / charge per corner = no. of rolls before you even break even on the roller cost, let alone any other costs (like petrol to get to clients sites etc). Not really worth it if they are as expensive as $1000 or so.

LowEk, $30 a corner is really good. I had mine done at Mermaid Suspension and he normally charges $60/corner (although I got mine for $30 cause I had repeat business to him and got all 4 done).

Consider it this way, it takes about an hour to do all four corners(work out what your labour time is) plus petrol, advertising and paying off equipment that may be used say once a fortnight... Personally, I do not think it would be worth it?!?! But would be a nice tax write-off as a business loss.

My local panel beater does it and charges $180 including removal of rims, rolling of guards and refitment of rims.
