    Question Rev limiter on gsi?

Just wondering whether or not a dc4 gsi is factory equipped with a rev limiter?
My car cuts out when it reaches 7000 revs. Should it? Should i not rev it so hard - can i cause damage?

Yes it should it cuts the fuel when it gets to 7000rpm, no you shouldn't, yes you can.
I'd rather walk way from something saying "that was too hard" than walk away saying "that was too easy"

Get a chip and you will be able to rev it out even further..
wouldnt make much difference on a stock motor but.

rev limiter is set to that level for a reason.
with a stock motor, "beatin the bush" that hard will probably produce very little gains.
once u have done some internal work like cams, pistons and balancing, then u can think about reving it past 7k with the help of an aftermarket ecu.

what does SAFC stand for? Why are you spending so much money on a near stock engine? Why not just go turbo all the way?
