    Whats a trailing arm ?thingo....

basically during jan when i got my car serviced they said on my left rear of the car... the trailing arm bushes are beginning to crack... what's that?

    is that the controller arm?
does it have anything to do with my suspension? cos i have noticed the rear of the car getting lower...

generally speaking.. how much does this thing cost?

    Thanks

there the last picture of JSL link. pretty exciting stuff when they let go

there are two in the rear, takes about 1 hour to replace, you have to remove the rear traling arm then press out the bush, press in the new one ( Honda have a special tool ) and put it all back together. pulling the arm out can be a little fun.

The trailing arm bushes are not cheap to replace! Even if they are slightly cracked you have to replace them straight away. On DC2's this is the one thing that is always replaced on the suspension system. I had to do my rear left trailing arm bush as well.

Ironfist - i've got a brand new rear trailing arm bush sitting around somewhere. They are worth over $100 (for one!) but i'll sell it to you cheap if you want it. Just email me at vti-2@ozhonda.com.
