although if you don't know the differences between your sir and type R engines, you could be fooled into getting an sir rather than type R

Alright I know the inlet manifold looks different on itr and the header is 4 to1, other than that, to be honest I wouldn't know what to look for. But anyway gonna go to that wrecker and have a closer look and ask heaps of questions.

yeah it should be right. That "2" isn't apart of it. Should be something like this on the engine....

    B18C
    2103905

hey guys, went to look at the engine today, the engine code is right, also saw a stamp of PR3 on the head, however I couldn't really find the year on the head, I saw a stamped circle with a line in the middle, and there is a number "9" and "8" stamped on each side. Is this the year that the engine was made?

bump. i wonder if this is true for all honda engines?
    D, B, K, F, H? all these letters sound like vitamin names.

9|8 means the engine was made in the year 1998, and can be/ might have been used in '98 car or '99 car yea?

Thinking of buying an engine from wreckers but wanna be cautious if they try to fool me.

    Thanks for the confirmation.
