Hey guys i've got a 7th gen civic with a pod filter..... it runs ok.... but when in idel and i accelarate the car wants to stall, but it doesn't stall.... i have rest the ecu.... any help????
heatsoak is what they call it. Maybe you need to do a CAI to divert some fresh cool air from the front bumper into the engine bay (and make it so its like RAM style so the air gets pushed in, hence more cold air)
Building a heat shield alone won't make a huge differnce if its still going to be sucking in hot air from the engine.
Was havin a look around in my 7th gen today tryin to see if I could fit in a pod. I don't think our engine bay is really suited to house a pod, so I was thinkin about just getting a panel filter? Any opinions on the pros and cons of just a panel filter vs a pod?
Also, whats in the big black box to the left of the stock filter and engine, where the air flows through from the front bumper? Didn't manage to screw it off.
Any Ideas as to the best arrangement for a pod in a 7th gen civic?
high flow panel filter owns all un protected pods on metal piping.
get a K&N panel, take out front resonator(under from bumper) and replace with some large diamteter $5 plumping pipe from bunnings.
^^ best bang for buck mod.
too many ppl spend lots of money on intakes. you have to think, how much power do you REALLY expect to gain out of an intake? there is easier and more cost effective power to be made elsewhere.
