3S-GTE. Nice turbo engine. Cons is that if you really work the engine for high power outputs, you'll die if it snaps a rod through the block because the engine is right behind you. Seriously, there has already been at least 1 death in the US.

they are meant to be one of the best OEM turbos...
from memory,.. they are twin entry ceramic turbos.. they work really really well after hi flow/hybrid rebuild

The mr2 gets max boost at about 3rpm... but that STD.

mr2 turbo would spank the b16a out of the water unless you are running at least cams + hondata +etc....
the 3sgte is suppose to be one of the best and advanced oem turbo motors out there, toyota put alot of research and enginneering into building the engine.
but if you were to line them up, say a eg b16a and mr2 turbo,,, i would put my life on the mr2 unless it was a complete nugget...

dont know much about C26 turbos but if its a ceramic turbine and its used, i'd steer clear of it (same with the T28)

i think the turbo migh be abit large for a b16, might have alot of lag. Rem MR2 is a 2ltr whilst your b16 is a 1.6, but then again isn't it a twin entry turbo so it might be alright.....

anyway my friend managed a 13s pass in his MR2 with full exhaust, dump pipe and CAI, the mid-ship launch bloody great.......

I'm going to disagree entirely here...

most oem turbos are already too small for the motor they come on. Also, due to the lower comp ratio, and likely lower v/e of the motor, it's not comparable to a honda motor.

If anything, it's probably too small for a b16

look at wrx turbos... even the ones for the 2.5l motors are WWWAAAYYYY tiny compared to something one would normally run on a b16... same concept
