There's nothing wrong with the SOHC vtec's... ive personally sat in both vti and si and theres nothing too it... they are both basically the same, its just the vti would be a few years newer then the si... and if you ever go to d-series.org you can see which engine the yanks prefer to mod and love more and its not the DOHC

Honestly, I don't think there is too much difference between the two so its up to the buyer. I mean if you have the extra money and want something newer and potentially in better condition then go for the VTi but if you want to do like an engine swap or don't want to spend so much then go for the Si.

I have a SI and i think that its relatively torquey down low HOWEVER
i have been shown that the VTI has more up top
ask dr4g0n ... we always drag and he started to pull top of 4th
where as i pulled alot on him at the top of 3rd

Each way ... it really depends on what ur gona do to the car in the end
Turbo kit or engine swap ...

Im a fan of the Si .. real happy with it

I've bought an Si... I think its a great little car... it was 3000 cheaper than the cheapest VTEC and is in fantastic condition

    they are both same..
for a conversion both wiring harness has to be modified anyways.
so best for a conversion would be
a EFi EG @ the most cheapest price u can find.

    and it owns vti's

ive raced a dc5r K20A i lost to him by 1 car length.. i have video to prove this
i smashed a vti by 3 car lengths
