    ask your dealer?
not being a smart ass or anything, but request to drive/sit in another car, and then see if you can fault it in that car.
if the noise ain't in that car, then tell them to fix your one.

The new Civics have a K Series engine yeah?

My Euro's engine makes a growling/vibrating noise at around 2300rpm then settles down as the rpm goes up, maybe its the same for the Civics engines...

Dunno, just momentum from the design of the engine i guess - possibly since the crank rotates the opposite way from older hond engines. Or maybe the engine is peaking at its highest torque power rpm?

Either way, I dont think its anything to worry about. You can askt he dealer to check it out for you during the next service, or ask them if you could test-rev another civic at the dealership

yeah I have the same problem with my DC2. I just don't seem to get enough power at 23,000rpm. I think you might have to run the jet a bit faster to give you the lift you require.

P.s. if it's under warranty, and its making noises etc, just take it back to your dealer.
dont ask people like us what's wrong with it, that's why the dealer has a warranty for and why honda pays its technicians to study up on their technology.

    lol^

Yeah no point taking it to service department yet, they'll probably just think your weird.
Go back to your salesmen and drive their demo, see how it acts.

If you are in Sydney, just come for the Friday meets and give one of us a ride in your car so we can hear the growl.

BTW the Civic VTi's engine is an R series. At low throttle and load it works in miller cycle mode, so that could explain the growling sound.
