					Inspecting an s2000

							Hi,
I am going to be ispecting a 2001 s2000 and wondering is an NRMA inspection and REVs check sufficient for purchase or should I do further checks/lookover.

I know people here recommend 2003 model and up but my budget is 35K and I really want an s2000.

 Thank in advance.

							whats your location mate ?
i am sure someone on here can point you in the direction of a reliable mechanic . NRMA do a good job , but personally i wouldnt use them , too many stories of inconsistant inspections.

For smashes / sprayed panels , cant go pass a panel beater to pick those out . If your in Syd , i recommend you take it to Hanny's for an inspection

							no prob's .
just go there and ask for Robert , tell him Vuey sent you . He's a good bloke, probably wont even charge you (probs need to tell him you will servicing your car with him
) He's a reputable honda mechanic , im sure a majority of members on here take their car there for servicing . 5 Star servicing at mates rates . I've always serviced my cars there , 90 CRX , 92CRX , 96CRX , 03 CRV and now my S2000 .

If your really keen on the car , ask the owner if he will go with you to hannys to get it checked out if you really got your hart set on it .

					2000 Model

I looked at a 2000 model last night which looked better. with 69K on the clock and is in fairly good condition.
The guy won't go below 36K. The rebook price is between 31200 - 36100 so I don't want to pay the high end market price. I am thinking 33K is more reasonable. Is there a lot of bargains to be had out there on an early model s2000?

Another who advertised sold a 2000 model with 38K on the clock to a dealer yesterday. He said he rejected a private offer of 36K and then he said he didn't get a good price becuase he ended up selling to a dealer(WTF??).

I am still trying to gauge how much are they actually selling for as opposed to the advertised price.

it really all depends . the lowered end S2k's in the low 30's will have alot more km's on them . When i went to buy mine , at the time they were worth $45-50k . some were even going for low $40k . but general condition of car , km's were shit house ! so for such an expensive car , better off paying a little bit more for peace of mind then getting a bargin and having prob's later on ! IMO .

99-00 your looking at about low to mid $30's depending on condition , km's , service history etc .
