basically what im after is to get ~215 wide rubber onto my EG, in the cheapest way, while still keeping with a lightweight rim (read: lighter or equal to my stock steelies)

im not after looks, just traction. Secondhand is ok (anyone got something to sell me ?) Im not that up with the rimz scene as its never interested me, so im after advice.. ive looked at the p1's and they seem to go for around $1.3 in 15/16" without rubber but thats 2 much money for me.

What kind of offset do the EG's come with? Ive seen that stock mazda miata/mx6 rims are about what im after 5.5" wide which ive been told can handle 215 rubber, has anyone got suggestions on this line of thinking?

Anywyas thats about it, any help is appreciated.

i dunno but i am going for Regamaster Evo's. But they would also be out of your price range ... $1.6k without rubber for 15x7 weighing in at 3.88kg or so

basically ... what i am trying to say is that, you get what you pay for!!

Probably best to save up and purchase later ...

p1's are not as light and not as good...they are cast not forged.

a lot more than P1's let alone any other brand.

arn't they like 9-10kgs for the 14s or something like that?

I have the stocky prelude wheels here and they weight a tonne compared to both sets of wheels... good for a laugh though :P

    Too much.

As for putting 215 series rubber on a 5.5" wide rim good luck. I know I wouldn't risk the sidewall stretch.

Look out for a nice set of 15x7 or 16x7" rims to get the sort of rubber you are after.

BTW, the words 'light' and 'budget' don't go together when it comes to rims!

    What wynode said.....

215 series on a 5.5" wide rim would not be fun.

I had 195's on my stock crx wheels (which are 5.5" i think) when I bought the car and there was too much sidewall flex.
    I now have 185 series.

To run 215 series tyres you would want a 7" rim.
Rota Slipstreams are a good price. ($1100 for 16's)
    Weight: 15"-12lbs, 16"-13.5lbs.
