Hi All, 79 first gen still running...

G'day everyone, I am the owner of a blue two door 79 civic. It runs pretty well, and just needs a few things fixed on it. Got a few oil leaks, and bits and pieces not working, but I'm slowly learning to fix these things up. She's treated me well so far.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who has given me help so far... I expect I will need a lot more in the future.

Posted a few photos down below...

    Cheers,

    Moldy.

As requested, here's a couple of pics of the old girl. As you can see there is a fair bit of oil under the bonnet, and also some splashed of coolant (not sure why!!). Not sure if you can tell from the photos, but some small rust spots are also starting to come through, from chips and the like.

She was re-sprayed a few years back, but it seems it was a dodgy job, as the paint is flaking away and rust starting to come through already.

She needs a bit of work, but as my knowledge is very limited, I'm hoping sites like this will be able to help me through.

She needs new rear brakes, front suspension, rust spots fixed, possible head gasket soonish, and who knows what else!! But the car's been in the family since new (still plastic on the doors), I'll try my best to look after it.

    Here's the pics:

welcome mate, ur car looks great. I always say that its good to see drivers that appreciate classic and well aged cars rather than simply a train station car. kudos
